Spellcaster's Island

You wake on the beach of Castaway Cove with nothing, but what washed up beside

you. The grass is covered in ash, half the trees are gone, and something under the island

is keeping it that way.

Chop, mine and forage. Plant crops. Build a camp before dark, because the

island changes at night.

A world of small systems that lean on each other

make a campfire or light a torch for safety. Slimes, snakes and bats will not step into the

light of a campfire or a standing torch. Select a torch and each fire shows

the ground it protects.

Slimes eat crops. After dusk they head for any crop the light does not

reach.

Rain is a double-edged sword. It waters your field and fills your canteen, but

it puts out every fire outdoors until you relight it. 

Hunger slows you down.  Run low on food or water and your stamina

returns at half speed. 

Animals hunt each other. Snakes eat chickens. If left alone they eat

your flock, and your meat source shrinks.

Every morning shows a report. Wake up to what the night did: what was

eaten, what was lost, and when to expect rain.
